Instituto Cultural Cabanas was originally an orphanage from 1810 until 1979. After that, this neo-classical landmark became an art school and cultural center. The famous muralist Jose Clemente Orozco adorned the dome and walls of the main chapel with a number of murals, including the classic, 'The Man of Fire'. It is often possible to catch good visiting exhibitions, as well as permanent displays, at Instituto Cultural Cabanas.
