VEC Business Internship Program - English Language Courses at Vancouver English Centre
Our Business English courses help people who need English in their work. A basic knowledge of English communicating skills is necessary for this course.

Business language skills are developed through many stimulating, realistic communicative activities. Role playing, practicing these skills in a business type environment, writing letters, responding to correspondence. Working on resumes that sell you, the student.

This course is suitable for a broad range of advanced students. Each student is tested as to their english skills and they will join a class at their specific level. Students can study for 4 to 12 weeks.

VLC is also proud to offer Business English in your place of business. We will give each student a needs test and from there develop a class for the needs of your specific business.

The Business English Certificate course is now being offered by VLC and is a process in 3 levels.

This course is a University of Cambridge recognized course and students should be prepared at VLC

Marketing
Studying the key concepts and vocabulary used in marketing to increase one's comprehension and knowledge of the English language used by native English speakers. Case studies are used to provide the student with actual working models of marketing projections and conversation. Discussion topics include: marketing strategies, follow-up, negotiation and entrepreneurship.

International Economy
Study the key concepts and vocabulary used in the global economy. Learning that business is different around the globe. What is right for one country may be totally unacceptable in another. Discussion topics include: international trade, import/export, investing, and the stock and bond markets.

Grammar for Business Purposes
Enhance your grammar skills while learning business terms and discussing business-related issues. Learning the nuances that are important to negotiating skills, telephone conversations and how all these components make you, the student, a better business person with a good knowledge of business english.

Public Speaking
Learn how to plan and deliver speeches and presentations. You will create monologues, make speeches within your classroom. Present topics and discuss business proposals. Present a business plan to your fellow students.

Prerequisite: VLC Advanced English 1
